Küll on kena kelguga…

Paar aastat tagasi saatis selline tore Läti firma nagu Zube kids (LINK) Idale puust kelgu.

Mulle tuli meelde oma lapsepõlv. Maas oli paks lumi, onu Tarmo oli sõjaväest tagasi tulnud, me läksime kelgutama. Ma istusin punases kelgus ja me kihutasime üle koolihoovi tädi Helju poole, lund tuiskas mulle näkku.

Nad on need kelgud loonud, mõeldes just samadele asjadele kui mina.

Aastake kelgutamist jäi vahele, sest me olime Norras ära, kuid nüüd on kelk kahe talvepäevaga selle pausi tasa teinud.

Two years ago a Latvian company called Zube kids sent us a sledge. I remembered my own childhood. Uncle Tarmo had just come home from the army, we went sledging. I was sitting on my red sledge and he was running so fast towards Grandaunt Helju’s house. The snow was throwing to my face. It was cold. In my pocket I had crayons which uncle Tarmo had brought me as present. I don’t know why I remember this one time so well.
I want Britt Ida to have similar childhood memories. Okay, she probably will not remember her first times when we go sledging, but I thought if  I anyway want to buy a sledge it should be something that is longlasting, and remains with you for the rest of your life with a help from memories. Something to create memories and serve generations.
It would be so cool to find it years later from the attic or garage. “Do you rememeber, when…” Britt Ida would ask. I would nodd: “Yes, I do remember. You were so little!”

Ieva and Laura are the two women behind the sledges. As so many entreprenours they too started with their company shortly after their children were born. What I like about their story is that they think about the same things. They have wanted to create products that bring family together, make us smile and give us positive memories.
I like things that have a story to tell. Things that have souls and long-lasting values. And when they in addition have such a lovely design as these nordic sledges, it’s a jackpot. Modest and clean. Sledges also have CE marking.

Last year the sledge stood alone waiting for us, we were away in Norway, but now during the first two winterdays the sledge has been our favorite vehicle.
